Mission Statement
SRHS Booster Club is an educational organization proud to support the development of girls’ skills on and off the field as well as their aspirations whether it be to enjoy high school sports with their friends or continued success in college athletics. We support softball activities year-round for students at SRHS, but the benefit of the contributions extends beyond SRHS to all San Diego Unified softball teams that play in spring, summer, and winter leagues, plus any fall program and tournaments. The SRHS Booster Club was formed to address the significant funding disparity between the SRHS Baseball program and the SRHS Softball program. While the city does provide some minimal funds to support the team (umpire fees only), these funds come up significantly short each season, with the additional budget required to cover basic needs such as game balls, tournament entry fees, field upkeep, safety equipment, uniforms, and more. After watching the baseball program continue to thrive on a seemingly unlimited budget while the softball program limps along without the basic equipment needed, Jason Turfler formed the SRHS Softball Booster Club in June of 2020 to enable the softball team greater opportunity to seek dedicated funding through donations, grants, and fundraising activities in order to keep the program healthy. The SRHS Booster club is dedicated to providing SRHS girls every opportunity the boys enjoy in a safe and fun environment they can be proud to be part of.
About This Cause
We strive to continue a top-notch program while our costs continue to rise, and funding is cut. Therefore, we depend upon the support from local businesses and families to keep our program operating. We would hope you would consider pledging your support as a sponsor to help provide game equipment, safety gear, uniforms, field maintenance and tournament fees, just to name a few.
