About This Cause
Ek Takay Ahar', which refers to 'food for a single penny'. Under this program hundreds of street dwelling children get their fundamental need of regular meals in exchange of one taka. We serve the underprivileged community with cooked food, dry essential edible items and with an opportunity to sit down and eat at our local eateries for free and for exchange of 1 taka. Every day, we distribute about 10000 to 15000 boxes of foods and we have already distributed over 10 million boxes of foods. Children are provided education, accommodation & food in these orphanages. About 500 children live in Sampriti onathaloy in Cox’s bazar, Parijat Etim khana in Rajbari, Megher bari Shishu shodon in Naikhongchari, Bandarban, Shopno danga onathaloy in Ruma, Bandarban hilly district, Deep tori onathaloy, Mayakanon onathaloy. Anyone can take the responsibilities of one child through monthly donation. After providing so many humanitarian services in exchange of Tk1, Bidyanondo Foundation established "Bidyanondo Mother & Child Care Hospital" at Pahartali, Chittagong, to ensure proper treatment of the general public and for those who live under the poverty line. This seven-storey hospital specializes in maternity and child care focusing mainly on providing safe normal delivery service without surgery. In Chittagong, patients will get medical services for one taka; to this end the non-profit organization has started working. They will just have to pay Tk1 to avail any kind of medical services and medicines. The hospital has been treating over 5,000 patients every month, with capacity to support up to 10,000 in near future. The hospital has a 21-bed general, 12-bed emergency, 16-bed Covid-19 ward and 1-bed dental unit. There is a separate mother and child care ward, telemedicine service, and Covid-19 unit with 70 additional bed.Currently, there are six doctors, four nurses, and 25 volunteers. The hospital also provides services to Covid-19 patients.
