Mission Statement
The mission of Evolve Pink is to give women the necessary tools to take what is likely the most catastrophic event in their life and transform it into their catalyst for empowerment, self- love and greatness. Evolve Pink is relevant to all women affected by breast cancer and their loved ones no matter where they are on their journey to help them feel whole, beautiful, and healthy in mind, body and spirit. Evolve Pink brings women with breast cancer on a positive pathway to wellness through education, holistic programs, compassionate support services, and by creating a unique and diverse network of survivors, mentors and friends to inspire true ways of living a positive, joyful and empowered life.
About This Cause
Evolve Pink was established by a breast oncology surgeon, Dr. Jennifer A. Montes. Dr. Montes knew very early in her medical career that the treatment of breast cancer was her true calling and passion. She soon realized the major impact that a breast cancer diagnosis has on every aspect of a woman's life. She came to see the many hurdles women face during their treatment and how isolated they can feel even in a room full of loved ones. The breast cancer experience is scary, confusing, and complicated. It can cause chaos in one’s life and make a woman feel disfigured, unattractive, and fearful about what life will look like when treatment is over. She saw first hand how many of her patients struggled more after their treatment than during. The near constant interactions with healthcare providers often comes to an abrupt end and they are left to wonder, ‘What about tomorrow?’ Dr. Montes wanted to not only treat the disease, but to somehow fill the gaps between diagnosis, treatment and healing for her patients. She wanted to create a program that helps women cope with all of these complex underlying issues in a positive and self empowering way. The mission of Evolve Pink is to give women the necessary tools to take what is likely the most catastrophic event in their life and transform it into their catalyst for empowerment, self- love and greatness. Evolve Pink brings women with breast cancer on a positive pathway to wellness through education, holistic programs, compassionate support services, and by creating a unique and diverse network of survivors, mentors and friends to inspire true ways of living a positive, joyful and empowered life. Evolve Pink is reaching women in a multitude of ways. We are creating spaces where women can commune, network and support each other. Evolve Pink offers educational series, guest speakers, exercise classes, yoga retreats, nutritional workshops, holistic services such as reiki, acupuncture and massage as well as personalized support and mentorship. We will also be reaching women in our airstream mobile unit so that our programs are accessible all over the tri-state area. Our mobile airstream unit will have the capacity to serve women at various cancer centers, community events, health fairs, and any venue large or small where people gather. We are also reaching women and offering many of our programs virtually so that our reach is global. Every woman affected by breast cancer deserves the opportunity to access the information that Evolve Pink is spreading and to tap into our community of brave and amazing women. As we continue to grow, we will be expanding our services to the entire New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia regions and beyond. Our airstream mobile unit will continue to travel as we establish roots in unique spaces throughout these areas as well, providing women with approachable and homelike settings for group counseling, nutrition classes, meditation, and other workshops that will help women to feel supported, connected, and full of hope.
