Mission Statement
To advocate and educate the general public in New Jersey on Ranked-Choice Voting by organizing at the municipal level.
About This Cause
Voter Choice NJ (VCNJ) advances Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV) in our state. We are working for electoral reform that will increase the range of choice on the ballot, produce fairer outcomes, and increase voter participation. RCV allows voters to rank the candidates on the ballot in order of preference, requires that candidates win with a majority of votes cast, and eliminates the notion of a “wasted” vote that currently exists when a voter considers choosing a candidate that is not one of the two major political parties. Whether an election is for federal, state, or local legislators, RCV makes elections more competitive and fair by encouraging the participation of more candidates and parties, and by ensuring that all voters’ voices are heard. Voter Choice NJ is organized as a 501(c)(3) corporation under New Jersey’s Nonprofit Act. We are completely nonpartisan.
