Mission Statement

The Mission of FoRSE is to improve addiction treatment through science, technology, and education.

About This Cause

The National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP) Foundation for Science and Education (FoRSE) was created in 2020 in response to the increasing issue of substance use disorders (SUDs) in the US and the need for collaboration to transform addiction healthcare. Unfortunately, addiction has become a federal healthcare emergency. Addiction treatment and recovery support have the potential to save and change lives. Despite efforts to provide better care, many people suffering from SUDs do not receive the treatment they require. The inability to demonstrate treatment efficacy through adequate patient outcomes data is a fundamental systemic roadblock to progress. FoRSE aims to launch measurement, quality improvement, and research initiatives to help providers measure the impact of their services, use data to provide better care, and advocate to improve access to care. FoRSE offers a centralized data repository that enables treatment providers to easily share data from their electronic medical records or other health technology systems.
