Mission Statement
The OptOut Media Foundation is a nonprofit charity with a mission to educate the public about current events and help sustain a diverse media ecosystem by promoting and assisting independent news outlets and, in doing so, advance democracy and social justice.
About This Cause
The OptOut Media Foundation is a public charity that assists independent media outlets. We do this in the following ways: Develop and maintain a smartphone app and web app that aggregate and curate content from exclusively independent media outlets, helping to increase the distribution of these outlets' work. Further promote these independent outlets in original newsletters and podcast episodes. Publish original reporting and podcasts. Assist independent outlets by helping with press outreach and podcast production and facilitate networking between the outlets.
