Mission Statement

King’s Academy will provide a first-class Christ-centered education for a student body that is both racially and socioeconomically diverse from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. We seek to help each student see their inherent God-given dignity, as well as that of their peers, as they are empowered to step into who God has uniquely created them to be: sons and daughters of the King.

About This Cause

King's Academy is a Pre-K-8th grade independent Christian school located in Nashville, Tennessee. Our mission is to provide a first-class Christ-centered education to a racially and socioeconomically diverse student body. We aim to help each student recognize their inherent God-given dignity and empower them to become who God has uniquely created them to be. Our vision is to reflect the light of Christ through a school community that displays the beautiful diversity of God’s Kingdom. We strive to be an example of the restorative power of Christ-mediated unity at work amongst His people, through God’s grace and to His glory. Our core values include diversity, humility, and a classically-inspired curriculum. We celebrate the racial and cultural diversity of the fellowship of believers, encouraging each child to embrace the unique giftings the Lord has bestowed upon them. Our curriculum is designed to prepare students for life, addressing the whole child: body, mind, and spirit. We seek to develop children to their full capacity as image-bearers of God: knowing, loving, and expressing that which is good, true, and beautiful. We offer an innovative enrichment program where every afternoon is reserved for enrichment classes, including art, music, athletics, Spanish, and forensics. Our students begin as generalists, but by 5th grade, they become specialists in two areas. Our key leadership includes Diana Beach Batarseh, the Head of School, and Palmer Williams, the Chairman of the Board. Diana is a life-long educator, trainer, and presenter, having worked with students from preschool through high school. Palmer, the founder of King's Academy, is an attorney who earned her Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt Law School. We are supported by founding allies such as The Drexel Fund. We also have a robust teacher feedback and evaluation system in place, developed in alignment with the highly acclaimed book Teach Like a Champion by Doug Lemov. Our school calendar meets 200 days per State of Tennessee requirements, including 180 days of student instruction, 5 days of professional development, and various parent meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and all-school community-building family social events.
