Mission Statement
Gathering Roots Wellness is a Black-led, BIPOC-centered wellness organization. We serve BIPOC communities by providing wellness programs, events, and direct mutual aid for the purpose of communal healing of intergenerational trauma and celebrating culture. We are currently finalizing a major land acquisition on which we will build our permanent retreat center. This center will be dedicated to supporting holistic social, cultural, and ecological health through diverse restorative practices for Black, Indigenous, and people of color.
About This Cause
Gathering Roots is currently providing online wellness and cultural healing spaces for yoga, meditation, Kitchen Medicine: ancestral plant work, and African Dance. These programs support stress reduction and communal space for connection. We also participate in community mutual aid by providing cloth masks and financial vouchers for therapeutic and wellness care. We believe in community economics and work in collaboration with BIPOC healers, therapists, and wellness workers to support the well being of our communities.
