Mission Statement

(Dragonfly Theatre Company doing business as) Subtext Studio Theatre Company (SSTC) is a not for profit professional theater that produces new plays by emerging playwrights, plays that center the voices of traditionally marginalized communities and peoples. Our goal is to express the voices and experiences of all people to better understand ourselves, our culture and our community.

About This Cause

Subtext Studio Theatre Company produces new plays twice a year in Chicago, and curates a New Play Festival that supports up to four emerging playwrights each year.
