About This Cause
Local Roots. Wello was established in 2010 after a local newspaper editorial asked people to submit bold ideas for the future. The community call-to-action: let’s work together to ensure generations of people can live their best lives with good health and well-being - to thrive! We act boldly for our future. Wello is a locally grown, nationally known non-profit recognized for our approach in building intentional, authentic relationships that create trusting, action-oriented spaces for change. We value diverse experiences and perspectives, believe in centering community voice in all our efforts, and are committed to working intentionally with partners from within our Northeast Wisconsin community and beyond to address root-causes of poor health and well-being. All People. Thriving. No Exceptions. Since our founding, Wello has worked with partners across backgrounds and sectors on projects that improve the quality of life for everyday people in our community. This includes: making it safer and easier to bike and walk, increasing access to healthy, local food while building economic opportunity for farmers, improving mental health for kids and adults, breaking down barriers to build an inclusive, welcoming community and establishing a nationally recognized resident health and well-being data-set to catalyze local action.
