Mission Statement
Early childhood education is vital to the healthy development and future success of all children. Simply put, a child’s early years lay the foundation for all that is to come. The human brain develops the vast majority of its neurons, and is at its most receptive to learning, between birth and three years of age. By providing quality early learning opportunities, Making Memories Playschool, Inc., can make a lasting impact on the lives of the children of the Indianapolis south side, as well as the community at large. As a non-profit Preschool/Pre-K and childcare facility, Making Memories Playschool, Inc. is able to offer rates lower than surrounding for-profit centers. Making Memories Playschool, Inc. provides an affordable, secure, nurturing and educational environment for children ages six weeks to five years old. We provide all children in our care the opportunity to grow physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually by playing, exploring, and learning with others in a fun, safe and healthy environment. Most of all we ensure peace of mind to all parents entrusting us with their child’s care.
About This Cause
Making Memories is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, consistent, challenging and holistic environment for young children and their families. Each child's day has an individual rhythm, as well as a predictable flow and structure. To ensure this balance, we provide a warm, nurturing setting that encourages children to learn through hands-on interactive exploration. A play-based approach provides a child-centered, teacher-guided curriculum, in which children are encouraged to construct their own knowledge. Play is a way of learning for children. During a typical day there will be structured and unstructured periods, enabling children to learn at their own pace. When children have this kind of support, the benefits include gaining confidence as well as self-esteem, building relationships, problem-solving, conflict resolution, expanding language, understanding rules and limits, discovering talents, sparking creativity, inspiring thinking, defining personality, and sorting out likes and dislikes. This play-based approach proves to benefit every area of a child’s development and mental health.
