Mission Statement

WakeUp Beaverton! works to lay a foundation for racial, cultural, spiritual, and language/linguistically diverse communities, in order to distribute assets, resources, and to have a community space for education and activities in partnership with the stakeholders of Beaverton.

About This Cause

WakeUp Beaverton! (“WUB”) is a multicultural community-based foundational blueprint dedicated to creating and empowering cultural stations, addressing educational support services, and distributing charitable resources to marginalized families of color. WUB focuses on providing adequate services to the underserved, such as immigrants and refugees, diverse communities of color, LGBTQIA, and low-income communities. WUB was founded by the need for Immigrants and Refugees and the Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities in Beaverton, Oregon, in August 2018. Many nonprofits and community-based organizations joined with WUB for an event to serve the needs of the BIPOC and immigrant and refugee families with fresh produce, programs, health and housing resources, school supplies, and after-school educational activities in Beaverton, Oregon. WUB’s activities are structured around communities of color: The Multicultural Center, WakeUp Beaverton School Supply Giveaway, and the Teacher/Community store. One hundred percent of WUB’s total time and effort is dedicated to developing and supporting these activities to serve the needs of the BIPOC and immigrant and refugee communities.
