Mission Statement
The GPUL has been actively serving the Greater Phoenix community since 1954 providing services, programs and assistance to individuals and families that has encounter hardship and to enhance or improve their overall quality of life .Providing direct and targeted educational programs, home ownership assistance and financial counseling\coaching, job readiness training and education has been the hallmark of the organization. The primary mission is to equip the disadvantaged with tools, delivered through programs to achieve economic and social equality in child development through Head Start, education development through College Preparation , housing and small business support through business coaching in fiscal services and accountability.
About This Cause
Collective Impact GPUL believes in community partnerships by working with other nonprofits and agencies who have similar mission of improving the Greater Phoenix community . These partnerships allow GPUL to reach more than its immediate clientele and allows GPUL to affect change to others than those who pass through its doors. GPUL will continue to partner with and support organizations who wish to serve the disadvantaged and to be a voice for individuals and families who have no one to advocate for them. Several ongoing partnerships GPUL has cultivated are as follows: The City of Phoenix Housing hotline, receive mortgage crisis client referrals. The City of Phoenix Head Start, contracted to serve low income children ages 3-5, College Depot, works with College Preparation Program for FAFSA workshops for parents to understand college financing. The Greater Phoenix Chapter of Links, Inc., to provide SAT prep for low income youth, grades 10-12 at Arizona State University, Bank of America, refers home buyers to our Home Buyer Education Seminar. Wells Fargo, refers home buyers to our Home Buyer Education Seminar. Chase, refers home buyers to our Home Buyer Education Seminar. Be A Leader Foundation, "Taking Steps To Success" Walkathon and expo for the College Preparation Program Kaplan K12 Learning Services providing exams and scoring for the ACT/SAT exams for the College Preparation Program
