About This Cause
Hospice of the Valley (HOV) is dedicated to providing personalized compassionate care for children and adults in central Arizona who need care due to serious illness or who are nearing life’s end. Providing comfort and dignity as life nears its end is our mission. Our local community roots, not-for-profit mission, service to the community, and innovative leadership in advancing palliative and end-of-life services and education distinguish us from all other hospices in central Arizona. Founded in 1977, HOV is the oldest hospice agency serving central Arizona. Being not-for-profit means we focus on serving our community and caring for all who come to us in need, regardless of insurance status or financial means. HOV also offers to the community a number of health-related educational and social services programs including presentations on chronic illness and end-of-life issues, senior placement services, and grief support group programs. In FY 2013, charity care and community benefit programs, such as education totaled $16.6 million. HOV is recognized locally and nationally for our award-winning staff and innovative programs, such as our state-of-the-art dementia care program.
