Mission Statement
The ARPF is dedicated to preventing memory loss and Alzheimer's by funding research studies and providing professional trainings, educational outreach and memory screenings.
About This Cause
Although we are slowly coming out of the pandemic slump, the COVID-19 crisis has greatly impacted your ARPF ability to serve people and generate funds to support itself. Please consider donating to help us Prevent the Other Pandemic: Dementia. What if we could reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s and people could avoid developing dementia? For those diagnosed with the disease and their families, what if there was a way to slow down its progression, so that they could live a healthier and more meaningful life, so they could have more time to spend with family creating memories? These are the questions that have driven us and our research, and questions we asked ourselves when we started the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation (ARPF). As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, the ARPF is honored to have been a pioneer for our community, researching, advocating, and educating families for answers and solutions. Our research has been published in the prestigious Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, as well as other significant medical journals, such as the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, Psychiatry Research, Nuclear Medicine Communications and Consciousness and Cognition. We are currently publishing significant data from our Pink Brain Project at UCLA, involving only women, because women make up 2/3 of all Alzheimer’s cases. We are also exploring a new partnership with a prestigious research institution for a breakthrough project on Spiritual Fitness and the prevention of Alzheimer’s. Together we can work to prevent memory loss and Alzheimer’s. We do this by: • Researching innovative and breakthrough modalities in the holistic or integrative medical approach for the prevention of this disease. • Educating patients, families, and the public on the known aspects of Alzheimer’s disease, with emphasis on the prevention and treatment of early-stage memory loss. • Providing free memory screenings to increase awareness and testing. • Training healthcare providers, yoga teachers/therapists and caregivers teaching and training in Brain Longevity® Therapy, a certified continuing education-approved course.
