Mission Statement
The mission of 4 Paws is to promote the physical and psychological well being of animals by providing a safe haven for cats while finding them adoptive homes or life long shelter.
About This Cause
We have been in service since 1996, starting out very small with cats in the rear of a small thrift store and have grown to a large thrift store, a three section Adoption/Intake/Free Roam area, a separate shelter building and we adopt out of 2 local PetSmart locations. We are a no kill shelter and do not euthanize cats except in the case of excessive or untreatable pain or suffering. Each case of euthanasia is treated individually, ensuring that we have done all we can in cases of injury or sickness. Only then will we authorize euthanasia. In cases of terminal illness, we also evaluate the cats quality of life before euthanasia is discussed. In 20120, even though the pandemic, we adopted over 700 cats/kittens into forever homes, with a very minimal return rate. We took in over 500 cats from various surrender types. We also processed over 450 kittens, many which were dumped on our doorstep, meaning we received no surrender fees for them. We rely entirely on donations and although we make every effort to keep costs down, the reality is that there is never enough money due to rising medical costs and dumped cats and kittens. Your donation consideration would be used for the care of the cats. This could be for testing and vaccinations, medical care, spay/neuter or any of the many other costs associated with getting a cat or kitten adoption ready.
