Mission Statement
The E-axes Forum is an independent nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization on macroeconomic policies and sustainability. The Forum is dedicated to aggregating knowledge from around the globe with the aim to catalyze the engagement of economists and decision-makers who are working on policies towards achieving a sustainable economy.
About This Cause
Achieving the goal of limiting global warming to below 1.5°C within this century necessitates a significant escalation in the ambition of countries for 2030 and beyond. This escalation requires a transformative shift in the global economy, encompassing production methodologies, consumption habits, the execution of monetary policy, and the prioritization of political agendas. Despite being in the early stages of this transformative journey, resistance to the implementation of necessary policies is already emerging. It is imperative that we not only expedite our efforts to combat climate change but also ensure the sustained engagement and support of all stakeholders involved. Towards this end, numerous policymakers have underscored the importance of research that is directly applicable to policy formulation, with the objective of crafting efficient strategies that align with net-zero targets and simultaneously mitigate potential negative economic impacts. The E-axes Forum is designed to meet this critical demand through the initiation of four distinct projects and activities. 1. The Climate Policies Analytics (CPA) project is developing an LLM-based framework to bolster research in climate economics by making substantive use of human-AI collaboration. 2. Publication of: a) Research digests that offer a reliable source of current climate economics knowledge to inform analysis and decision-making. b) Policy briefs that analyze key debates on how to address climate change by contextualizing recent scientific findings within policy conversations. 3. Incentivization of cutting-edge research through: a) The establishment of an annual research prize that acknowledges young scholars' exceptional contributions to the study of macroeconomic policies and sustainability; b) The organization of webinars designed to highlight the work of early career economists specializing in climate finance, further supporting and promoting their research endeavors. 4. Organization of webinars and panel discussions that bring together senior central bankers and leading professors in economics and finance from across the globe to foster the exchange of insights on strategies for attaining net zero.
