Mission Statement
Currently, an estimated 445,170 Utahns and 1 in 6 children are facing food insecurity in Utah, and Utah Food Bank is the sole food bank responsible for ensuring food-insecure Utahns in every county can access the emergency food assistance they need. Utah Food Bank's mission is Fighting Hunger Statewide, and we do so through a vast network of over 370 partner agencies and food pantries located throughout all 29 counties. Last year, Utah Food Bank distributed 57.9 million meals to Utahns facing hunger through our partner network and direct service programs. Utah Food Bank's direct service programs include programs that are aimed at supporting children, such as the Kids Cafe and Summer Feeding, which prepare and deliver nutritious meals, and our Mobile School Pantry program, which distributes food to children and their families every month at schools where 50% or more of the student body qualifies for free or reduced lunches. Other direct service programs include the Food Box program, which delivers monthly supplemental food boxes to home-bound seniors and people with disabilities, and our Mobile Pantry program, which provides distributions of emergency food assistance to underserved communities that lack access to traditional food pantries or reliable access to transportation.
