Mission Statement

Located on 152 acres, the Ogden Nature Center provides a wide variety of education programs, community events, and opportunities to connect with nature. Visitors enjoy up close looks at our live birds of prey, our 1.5 miles of quiet walking trails that wind through woods and open meadows, demonstration gardens, nature inspired art installations, and self guided educational experiences. Our Visitor Center and LS Peery Education Center are models of sustainable design and building practices. An additional 23 acre preserve is located on north mountain road snuggled against the cliffs of the Wasatch Mountain Range.

About This Cause

The Ogden Nature Center's mission is to unite people with nature and nurture appreciation and stewardship of the environment. Open year around, we focus our efforts on educating people about nature and conservation. Both onsite and offsite education programs are available for people of all ages, and reach over 28,000 annually. Our school programs for children meet core curriculum requirements for science and several other subjects. Other onsite programs include those for preschoolers, community education programs, after school programs, and workshops for scouts. Our popular outreach programs bring our live animals and nature programs to community venues and schools. Volunteers are essential to all we do, and hundreds of people donate thousands of hours each year. From families with young children to senior citizens, our volunteers are involved in every aspect of the Ogden Nature Center.
