About This Cause
The Family Support Center began in 1977 with the establishment of Utah's first Crisis Nursery to provide free crisis care to any family in need, in an effort to reduce incidents of child abuse in Salt Lake City, and to provide resources and support for struggling families. We continue in our mission today, to "protect children, strengthen families, and prevent child abuse" through a network of supportive services including free crisis nursery care, counseling, housing for the homeless, affordable child care, adoption respite care, educational classes and programs, advocacy and support for the marginalized, and so much more.
