About This Cause

Humanitarian Services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who operates Latter Day Saint Charities, has provided aid since 1985 regardless of cultural or religious boundaries. Emergency assistance is provided through the Humanitarian Aid Fund, and long-term aid is provided through major initiatives such as wheelchairs, clean water, food initiative, vision care, maternal and newborn care, immunization, and a variety of local area initiatives. Two tenets of humanitarian aid defines Humanitarian Services: 1) 100% of every dollar donated is used to help those in need without regard to race, religion, or ethnic origin, and 2) Humanitarian Services helps people attain self-sufficiency so they can be self-reliant long after Humanitarian Services departs. In 2013, help was provided to nearly two million people in 132 countries. Currently we are receiving donations for: •Humanitarian Aid Fund •Wheelchairs •Clean Water •Food Initiative •Vision Care •Maternal and Newborn Care •Immunization More information is available at www.ldscharities.org While corporate matches of employee donations are appreciated, they cannot be accepted as tithing or fast offerings, credited to individual missionary accounts or any other local ecclesiastical unit accounts, such as Boy Scout troops or youth programs. Corporate matches of employee donations made to any of these accounts will be credited to the Church Humanitarian Fund. Other corporate matches of employee donations will be credited to the same account designated by the employee. The acceptance of corporate matches to employee donations will be based on each individual corporation’s policies governing their matching gift program. This may preclude the Church from accepting corporate matches of employee donations or require them to be credited to other accounts that comply with corporate policies. Corporations and their employees that have questions about matching contributions may contact the Philanthropies Dept of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1-801-356-5190.
