Mission Statement
The Why Project is building the future one project at a time, providing learning opportunities that foster youths’ agency and mental health through artistic, linguistic and professional development. We operate at the intersection of Language Arts and Visual Arts while providing opportunities for tangible and intangible growth professionally as well as interpersonally.
About This Cause
The Why Project was created in 2021 as a vehicle for supporting place-based investment to support the equitable development of traditionally underserved communities. With this commitment, we are building the future one project at a time, by providing learning opportunities that foster youths’ agency through artistic, linguistic, and professional development while providing them with a safe, collaborative space for a holistic experience. Based in Philadelphia, The Why Project currently provides animation workshops and programming for youth from grades 6 -12 in Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, and Delaware counties in Pennsylvania, with a focus on underserved communities.
