Mission Statement
The AEFEM is a nonprofit organization with a mission to save lives of children and pregnant women by providing better nutrition, basic necessities and access to healthcare.Our vision is to serve as a comprehensive resource where all pregnant women and children can find necessary resources to lead a healthy life. Food security and access to adequate nutrition is critical to positive birth outcomes, healthy fetal development and mental health of mothers and young infants.
About This Cause
Our programs and services offer resources and support to improve the health of pregnant women, infants and children through better nutrition and care. The Good Dietary Practice Program helps supports at-risk, homeless and low-income families, particularly pregnant and single mothers, by providing care packages that include emergency food, diapers, children's clothing, formula and other essential items. These care packages often serve as vital resources for struggling mothers and infants in need of such resources. The AEFEM antenatal and postnatal care program works in partnership with local community center to provide consultations and support to pregnant women, as well as to provide postnatal support to ensure the mother and child are healthy. In addition to monitoring the pregnant woman’s health, the antenatal care provides information and answers questions to help future mothers prepare for the baby’s arrival. The postnatal care also focuses on tracking the baby’s vaccination schedule to ensure the child build a strong immune system.
