About This Cause
Choose Compassion traces its roots back to the collective efforts of its leadership team and volunteers who have been actively engaged in community service for over two decades. Although the organization itself is three years old, its members have dedicated their time and expertise to support over 50 Minnesota-based organizations. The team's extensive involvement includes serving with various renowned entities such as The Corporation for National and Community Service’s Americorp Vista program, The SAMHSA Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS), the White House Office of Community Engagement, the City of Minneapolis, and NW communities. What sets Choose Compassion apart is its collaborative approach. Rather than reinventing the wheel, the organization seeks to partner with a wide array of dedicated organizations, aiming to enhance the resources available to the community. Building on the existing efforts of these organizations, Choose Compassion is committed to providing trauma education and prevention services, focusing on filling crucial gaps that may often go unnoticed. This dedication to collaboration and filling in the much-needed but sometimes overlooked gaps sets Choose Compassion on a unique path, ensuring a more comprehensive approach to community support and well-being.
