Mission Statement
The Aarush M Patel Foundation was created after an unexpected and tragic late-term stillbirth at 38 weeks after two years of unrelated infertility planning. We have since heard from so many friends and family about their similar struggles with unexplained diagnoses, pregnancy losses and infertility experiences. Our Foundation’s core mission is to utilize and promote engineering, technology and data analytics to enhance the current research opportunities in not only Maternal Fetal Medicine but also Girl’s and Women’s Health throughout the scope of their lives. This area of medicine has been historically underfunded and ignored and we strive to change that trend by bringing engineers, doctors, and data scientists together for collaboration. Women’s and Girls health is met with a significant number of unknowns including endometriosis, PCOS, fibroids, unexplained infertility, miscarriages, stillbirths, lactation, post partum depression, and hormonal imbalances throughout life. Unfortunately this list is much longer. The funding will be used to start significant research, product development, and an analytics platform through the various avenues explained above. Our foundation aims to change the landscape of Women's Health through Research & Innovation, Product Development, and Engagement with the Community to ensure that those who want to be parents are able to, and those who are already pregnant, can carry their baby to term without additional fear and anxiety of the unknowns prevalent in Women’s Health.
About This Cause
Our foundation has 4 pillars which we are actively working towards all related towards Women's Health, Maternal Fetal Medicine and Fertility. 1. Partnership with Northwestern University and Northwestern Medicine to start an endowed center in Women’s Health 2. Data Analytics Platform - We would like to create a data aggregation platform for Menarche to Menopause Women’s Health management. This system would be the central health platform for three phases of “life” preconception, fertility/pregnancy, and menopause. 3. The India Campaign - The world health organization predicts over 19 Million stillbirths in India by 2030. We would like to deploy fast capital to combat the high rate of stillbirth through education, pharmaceuticals distribution and access to basic healthcare in rural areas. 4. The Care basket program and stillbirth support - The US experiences 25,000 stillbirths every year. Parents and families who are left in grief have significant financial, physical and emotional burdens that our current laws and support systems do not address. Our basket program provides critical postpartum items which are dispersed through the hospital networks starting in Chicago but hopefully nationwide as we continue to grow our Foundation.
