Mission Statement

Circuit EPA connects young learners to ground-breaking technology that inspires them to be the next generation of big thinkers and explorers; giving all young people access to opportunities in STEAM.

About This Cause

The.Circuit EPA is a non-profit organization based in East Palo Alto, focused on closing the technology education gap for youth in the Ravenswood City School District. Our mission is to empower students through hands-on learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), giving them the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed in a fast-changing digital world. Located at Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School (CCRMS), The.Circuit EPA provides students with direct access to modern technology that they might not otherwise have. Our programs are designed to spark curiosity, develop potential, and encourage a lifelong love for learning, especially in areas that will shape the future. Our Programs: Club Circuit: This after-school technology club introduces middle school students to the world of technology through mentoring, hands-on projects, and interactions with professionals. Students explore Game Design, Content Creation, and Engineering, building skills and confidence in a supportive environment. Immersive Learning & Newcomer Support Program: This program uses Virtual Reality (VR) to enhance learning for all students, with a special focus on those new to the country who are learning English. By bringing lessons to life through VR, we help students engage more deeply with their education and support them in overcoming language barriers. Esports Program: Our Esports program taps into students' interest in gaming and turns it into a structured activity where they learn teamwork, strategy, and problem-solving. The.Circuit EPA is forming an esports team at CCRMS, providing students with a fun and educational way to develop both their gaming skills and important life skills. Career Pathways Program: This program helps middle school students develop the tech skills they need to succeed in the future. By connecting students with real-world experiences and mentors, we guide them toward careers in technology and leadership roles in the digital economy. Who We Are: The.Circuit EPA is dedicated to making high-quality STEAM education accessible to all students, especially those who face barriers due to their background or circumstances. We focus on students with a passion for technology but who may struggle to access advanced programs, creating opportunities that are inclusive and empowering. We believe education should be more than just learning from books; it should inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. By working closely with teachers, we make learning an exciting journey that prepares students for the challenges of the future. At The.Circuit EPA, we are committed to giving every child the chance to explore, dream, and achieve. Our programs are designed to build not just academic and technological skills, but also social and emotional strengths, helping students become well-rounded individuals ready to succeed in all areas of life. The Importance of Technology: In Silicon Valley, technology drives progress, but many students in our community don’t have the resources they need to be part of this progress. The.Circuit EPA is working to change that by providing education and experiences that open up the world of technology to every student. We believe that access to technology education should be a right, not a privilege, and we are committed to helping our students take advantage of the opportunities in their own backyard. Our Community Impact: Families in the Ravenswood City School District face significant challenges in accessing modern technology and quality STEAM education. This lack of access limits opportunities for students, making it harder for them to succeed in today’s economy. The.Circuit EPA addresses these challenges by providing programs tailored to our community’s needs, empowering students to reach their full potential. Our programs give students hands-on experience in STEAM activities, helping them develop the skills they need to thrive in a technology-driven world. We also emphasize the importance of social and emotional learning, including self-confidence, teamwork, and leadership. Our Vision for the Future: The.Circuit EPA aims to create a space where the next generation of innovators can grow. We want every student to connect with technology in a way that excites them and encourages them to dream big. Our vision is for every child to have the chance to explore their interests, develop their talents, and build a successful future. We are dedicated to transforming the educational experience in Ravenswood and surrounding communities by introducing new ways of teaching and learning that go beyond traditional methods. Our programs foster curiosity, problem-solving, and creativity, and we work with teachers to make sure every student has the opportunity to succeed. At The.Circuit EPA, we believe that every child deserves the chance to explore, dream, and thrive. Our programs are designed to create a level playing field where every student can reach for a future full of possibilities. We recognize the talent in East Palo Alto’s students and are here to guide them as they grow into the leaders of tomorrow.
