Mission Statement
Educating and supporting individuals, families, and the members of the community affected by addiction.
About This Cause
Based in Long Beach, California, the New Found Life Foundation was established in 2021 by a dedicated group of recovery community individuals. The specific purpose of our organization is to educate and provide support to family members of individuals suffering from addictions, and to provide scholarships for persons in need of treatment for substance use disorder and comorbid conditions. Addiction to alcohol or other drugs is an illness that has a profound effect on both the individual and his or her family. We believe that family involvement is an integral part of helping both individuals affected by the disease, family members, and friends. The Foundation will address the needs of the family members who have loved ones in recovery or those who still need treatment. MISSION Educating and supporting individuals, families, and the members of the community affected by addiction. VISION The vision of the Foundation is to provide education about the devastating effects of addiction and the impact it has on those with the disease, their family members, and the community at large. We also want to provide funding for individuals who have an honest desire to recover and may not otherwise have access to treatment. WHO WILL BE SERVED BY THE FOUNDATION Those who may benefit from learning about substance abuse disorders and treatment for the disease include addicts, alcoholics, family members, professionals, clinicians, counselors, and educators. EDUCATION New Found Life Foundation Educational Forum - Addiction to alcohol or other drugs is an illness that has a profound effect on the individual, the family, and the community. The Foundation offers help to all affected individuals through the education forum. The forum is a great opportunity for the families and the community to receive tools and information about the nature of addiction and to learn about the impact the disease has on the family system. This forum is held on the last Saturday of every month from 8 am -12 pm. It is designed to educate family members about the disease of addiction and the recovery process. The Foundation has the unique honor of having access to some of the finest clinicians and professionals in the industry. Individuals interested in recovery, family members, clinicians, teachers, counselors, institutions, and professionals are all encouraged to attend. Education in the Long Beach Community - The Foundation participates in community events to help educate the community about the profound effects of substance abuse on individuals, the family, and the community in general. We participate in 4-6 events a year spreading the word about the disease and the process of recovery. Events may include presentations at education fairs, health fairs, community events, community groups, schools, hospitals, and clinics. SCHOLARSHIPS The Scholarship Fund is founded on the belief that any motivated individual in need should have the opportunity to receive treatment for this disease. By removing some of the financial burdens associated with treatment this fund plays a vital role in increasing treatment access and recovery. Each applicant will be required to satisfy certain requirements in order to apply for a scholarship and all scholarships are subject to Board approval. Each applicant will also need to participate in an application process that includes a written application and financial documentation of his/her need.
