Mission Statement
Friends of Hogar Sagrado Corazon mission is to provide support to the orphanage, Hogar Sagrado Corazon in Montero, Bolivia and any other education, health, or general well being needs of individual impoverished Bolivians. The Hogar is committed to breaking the poverty cycle through love, support, and education and is blessed to be a part of an international network of volunteers and supporters who contribute to our mission.
About This Cause
Hogar Sagrado Corazon is a Catholic orphanage for around 120 girls in Montero, Bolivia. Over the past 50 years the Sisters of the Sacred Heart have supported the girls, ages birth to 20, by providing a loving home and community. The girls are at the orphanage due to various tragic life events. The majority were abandoned by their parents through death or other circumstances, while some have parents who are unable to support them financially, while still others come from abusive homes. The Hogar provides the girls a loving home with meals, clothing, education, health services, recreational activities, and development. The Friends of Hogar Sagrado Corazon provides financial support for things like - education, clothes, food, orphanage maintenance, building projects, holiday celebrations, health care bills etc. Essentially anything needed to support the orphans.
