Mission Statement
To create a hub for accessible, culturally based clinical healing services for Northern New Mexican Latino, Hispanic and Native American people in Rio Arriba and Santa Fe counties.
About This Cause
Abrazos Community Healing Center was created in response to the shortage of behavioral health services available to Northern New Mexico’s Latino, Hispanic and Native American communities. We are a team of culturally skilled therapists who are invested in serving our highest-needs communities, while building a strong, equitable and lasting workplace. Goals: Abrazos seeks to recruit and retain culturally-aware and/or bi-lingual therapists and social workers, and to provide culturally relevant therapy for our communities of color in Northern New Mexico. Abrazos seeks to create a positive agency culture where therapists are paid well and supported to do great work that they are passionate about. Abrazos sets its sights on creating an informed and relevant training program and curriculum to not only train its therapists to work in our unique communities, but also to disseminate its learnings and curriculum to partner agencies.
