Mission Statement
Mastermind Recovery provides hope for individuals and families faced with homelessness and/or addiction by providing physical health, mental health and spiritual resources with empathy and guidance.
About This Cause
MMR is led by an Addiction Physician who understands substance use issues and homelessness. The services are provided by team members who have firsthand experience with addiction and/or homelessness; These personal experiences allow deeper connectivity with the San Antonians that we serve. Our health insurance specialists assist individuals to secure health insurance coverage thus improving access to healthcare. Mobile outreach teams go on the streets, to jails and other settings to connect with the homeless and individuals in need of recovery; they are connected with partnered rehabilitation treatment centers that best suit their needs. Liaison services and transportation to these facilities are provided. We offer Transitional and Recovery-oriented housing for individuals, families and the elderly. We recognize the importance of women and children; our food and clothing program helps meet their immediate needs. Recent findings show that 1 of 2 individuals in shelters in San Antonio are families. We provide personalized and ongoing case management for individuals and their families, thus connecting them with resources and tools necessary for their growth. Education materials are incorporated with wellness binders for each individual and leveraged technology in the form of mobile phone applications to aid time management, goal setting and task accomplishments. Finally, we offer job placement services and provide physician-led free psychiatric services. A current goal we are working on is to have an MMR sober home, this will assist in post recovery efforts. Celebrate recovery is also a new program we look forward to starting.
