About This Cause
The Manhattan Village Academy Parent Association (MVA PA) is a 501c3 non-profit organization located in New York, NY. We are dedicated to empower and support students at Manhattan Village Academy (MVA) through family engagement. Our mission is to ensure that all students at MVA not only are supported to excel academically but are also armed with the tools and resources to thrive as responsible and engaged citizens of the world. Manhattan Village Academy is a small but highly sought-after public high school located at 43 West 22 Street, in New York City. It ranks in the top 15 out of 400 high schools. The student body represents diversity in culture, language, economics and spans across the 5 boroughs of the city. Our parent association is a representation of the same diversity. As a PA, our core objectives include community engagement, student success and resource mobilization. We aim to foster a sense of community amongst parents, students and educators through collaboration and a shared responsibility for our students’ education; we support academic achievements and personal growth of every student at MVA, as exemplified by our proactive fundraising efforts; and we work tirelessly to secure resources to enhance the educational experience for all students. Our key initiatives and activities of fundraising campaigns and events, monthly meetings with school leadership, parents and board members, and advocacy help to fulfill our mission. Through our efforts, the MVA PA has had a positive impact on the school community including enhancing parent engagement and communication between parents, teachers and school administrators; as well as financial support.
