Mission Statement
To organize and conduct charitable fundraiser events to benefit the Jade Lee Marasigan Charitable Fund through the fiscal partner, Northridge Hospital Foundation. 100% of net profits raised through solicitation of monetary and in-kind donations, and sponsorships for the events (less event expenses), will be donated to the Jade Lee Marasigan Charitable Fund which provides individual guidance for families, accessibility to treatment, and financial assistance for those at-risk patients who are in need of continuation of care for their mental health treatment. Events, as well as printed and digital communications, will also be used as a platform to raise awareness and education for mental health and suicide prevention.
About This Cause
Driven by the grief of losing their 17 year old daughter in August 2020 to suicide, the Jade Lee Marasigan Charitable Fund was founded in December 2020 by Jade's parents — John and Soo Marasigan — to help bridge the gaps in the mental health system that adolescents face. In December 2020, they had partnered with the Northridge Hospital Foundation to host the charity and its programs within the Behavioral Health Department at the Dignity Health Northridge Hospital. Play for Jade Events Inc. was created in August 2022 as a non-profit, public charity to enable the Marasigan's to reach out to a wider range of donor and sponsorship support beyond their family and friends. The vision and purpose of Play For Jade Events Inc. is to fundraise for the Jade Lee Marasigan Charitable Fund through hosted events while raising awareness for adolescent and young adult mental health and suicide prevention. By building the financial base of the Charity, we can continue to provide mental health services to young patients needing treatment in the hopes of saving them from similar circumstances Jade had faced.
