Mission Statement
Hebrew SeniorLife is one the largest provider of elder care in the Boston metropolitan area. Founded in 1903, Hebrew SeniorLife, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, is a nonprofit, non-sectarian organization devoted to innovative gerontology and geriatric research, senior health care, long-term nursing home care, and Greater Boston senior housing communities that improve the lives of older adults. From independent living to assisted living, Hebrew SeniorLife provides retirement communities in Massachusetts that are designed to help older adults live healthy independent lives.
About This Cause
We are a non-profit, non-sectarian organization that has provided communities and health care for seniors, research into aging, and education for geriatric care providers since 1903. With 2,400 employees aligned around a common mission, goals and cultural beliefs, we are one of the largest employers in Massachusetts. We care for 3,000 seniors a day at our eight Boston area campuses and communities. We reach untold more seniors, families, caregivers and senior care professionals around the U.S. and the world through our research and teaching mission. Our Institute for Aging Research challenges assumptions about aging and replaces them with new, evidence-based realities founded on the results of rigorous scientific enquiry. Each year, we train more than 700 students, interns, residents and fellows in multiple geriatric disciplines to prepare them to be the clinicians, leaders, researchers and policy-makers of tomorrow. Hebrew SeniorLife provides a comprehensive continuum of senior living communities and health care that promotes the best quality of life possible for residents, patients and seniors in the Greater Boston community. We invite you to come visit us at one of our eight campuses.
