Mission Statement
The Caring Closet is dedicated to improving the lives of children in the Hamilton City School District by providing clothing and basic necessities to those in need. We believe positive self-esteem enhances the educational process and rely on the generosity of the community to help us achieve our goal. Our core values: Caring Heart, Generous spirit, Tireless resolve.
About This Cause
We are a non profit organization of volunteers, started in 2012, who provide clothing, shoes, coats, toiletries, etc. to Kdg.-12 grade students in need within the Hamilton City School District . (Hamilton, Ohio). Each of our 13 school buildings have a liason, who works directly with educational staff, who identify and refer students needing our services to The Caring Closet. This referral is then handled by our coordinator/volunteers, who provide a box of 2 weeks worth of clothing (new underwear, new socks, new shoes & gently used and/or new/freshly laundered clothing, and toiletries to the student...all within a 1-2 day window of time. During the 2018-2019 school year, we helped nearly 1,000 students in need!
