HouseProud Atlanta provides critical, no-cost repairs to low-income senior, disabled and veteran homeowners with the mission of keeping them 'warm, safe, dry' and independent in their homes.
About This Cause
HouseProud Atlanta provides critical, no-cost repairs to the seniors that need them most. The typical client served by HouseProud is a low-income, senior widow who brings in $1200 per month or less. Repairs include full roof replacement, heating and air unit replacement/repair, plumbing repair, handrail installation, floor stabilization and more. HouseProud utilizes licensed, insured and highly skilled tradesmen for system repairs, such as roofing, plumbing and electrical. The organization is able to stretch its dollars further by galvanizing hundreds of volunteers to provide painting, landscaping and minor carpentry repairs. Over 90% of homeowners returning anonymous surveys have indicated that the repairs provided by HouseProud will allow them to remain in their homes and independent longer. The repairs provided by HouseProud allow seniors to "age-in-place" and remain an important part of Atlanta's everchanging communities.
