Seattle Humane promotes the human-animal bond by saving and serving pets in need, regardless of age, ability, circumstance or geography.
About This Cause
Seattle Humane (legal name, Humane Society for Seattle/King County) was founded in 1897. We are a private, nonprofit animal welfare organization. We are proud to serve the people and animals of our region with a variety of programs including adoptions, veterinary services, dog training classes, a pet food bank, and humane education for children of all ages. Through outreach, advocacy, and services, we strive to ensure that animal companionship is accessible to all. What Sets Seattle Humane Apart: *We are an independent, nonprofit organization. We are not affiliated with city or county animal shelters or with any other humane society locally or nationally. *We help thousands of animals a year. *We achieved a save rate of 98.6%, one of the highest in the nation. *80 cents of every dollar donated benefits the animals. Your donation goes directly to the care of homeless pets. *We are a 4-Star Charity. Charity Navigator has rated us among the top 4% of U.S. charities. *80% of our budget comes from donations. We receive no local, state or federal funding.
