Mission Statement
To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
About This Cause
For over 75 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of King County has been opening doors of opportunity and preparing young people for a great future. We see possibility in every young person and are committed to being a voice for all youth in King County. Every day, more than 2,000 kids and teens in the greater Seattle area visit the Clubs via drop-in programs, licensed before- and after-school programs, pre-K programs, and teen centers. At Boys & Girls Clubs, our goal is for success to be within reach of every young person who comes through our doors. We mentor and assist all Club kids on their journey to graduate from high school with plans for the future. We are a safe haven where kids can learn, grow, and play. Every day, our professional youth development staff members are changing lives, giving kids a place to call their own—a safe, fun, inclusive and inspiring atmosphere that families can count on. Dedicated to promoting healthy choices and inspiring youth to make decisions that put their dreams within reach, our nationally recognized programs support three core impact areas: Academic Success—We prepare kids and teens for high school graduation, college, and careers by building the skills needed to succeed in today's globally competitive workforce. Healthy Lifestyles—We are committed to helping kids and teens build healthy habits for life by making sure they're active, engaged, and able to make healthy choices (such as abstaining from harmful substances). Good Character & Citizenship—We teach kids and teens how to be responsible, engaged citizens and innovative, resilient leaders through mentorship, accountability, and modeling good behavior.
