Mission Statement
Ryther provides exceptional therapeutic services to young people who are struggling emotionally and behaviorally so they may find a path to healing and hope.
About This Cause
Ryther's dedicated and caring professionals bring their knowledge and expertise together from within the disciplines of psychiatry, psychology and individual, family, group or experiential therapies as well as chemical dependency treatment. Our clinicians will assess and provide treatment recommendations addressing child and adolescent depression and anxiety, ADHD, ADD and other mental health diagnoses as well as guide and coach children and teens facing adjustment issues at school, with peers or with parents. Ryther served children and youth ages 2 to 24 and their families— almost 2,500 in 2015. Programs serving clients in 2015: Ryther's COTTAGE PROGRAM served 87 clients. These clients were served on our main campus. It is an inpatient treatment program for children ages 6–14 who experience significant mental health, emotional or behavioral challenges and may have been severely impacted by neglect, physical and/or sexual abuse that preclude them from living in a family setting. Ryther provides a nurturing, structured and safe environment where emotional, mental health and behavioral issues are addressed. Caring counselors and experienced therapists, along with our psychiatrists and psychologists, provide assessment, stabilization and treatment so that children are better prepared to succeed in a safe, loving and permanent home. THERAPEUTIC FAMILY AND FOSTER CARE served 6 clients. These clients were served in private foster homes and in their own family homes throughout the Puget Sound region. TFC recruits, licenses, trains, places and supports Ryther’s foster homes and caregivers. Our foster parents are part of a professional team that work to reunify children with their birth families if that is the case plan. When reunification is not an option, children are served in our therapeutic and traditional foster homes that offer longer-term placements and specialized treatment with the goal of permanency for the child. TFC also provides intensive in-home services to families whose children are exiting residential treatment or trying to avoid out-of-home placement. GROUP CARE ENHANCEMENT served 349 individuals. These clients were served throughout the Puget Sound in their communities as well as other agencies. Group Care Enhancement provides teen substance abuse specialists to local agencies working with chemically impacted youth who may be involved in homeless drop in centers, homeless shelters, or juvenile justice services. OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH served 1426 clients. These clients were served on our main campus, Mukilteo office, Bellevue office and at YouthCare. Mental Health Services help children, teens and young adults and their families to stabilize and improve interactions and communications in family and community relationships. Services include psychiatry, psychological testing, counseling, Autism assessments, DBT skills groups and more. Our team of licensed and credentialed master’s level therapists is trained in one or more evidence-based practice, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. OUTPATIENT SUBSTANCE USE served 112 clients. These clients were served on our main campus, Mukilteo and Bellevue offices. Master’s and CDP level clinicians help teenagers and families dealing with issues of substance use. Ryther offers both teen drug and alcohol assessments as well as individualized Level I outpatient treatment and our Intensive Outpatient Program. Ryther’s Co-Occurring Program for teens and young adults treats mental health issues and substance use and is based on the latest research to identify and treat mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety or ADHD in adolescents with substance use. ASPIRING YOUTH served 457 clients. These clients were served on our main campus and around the Puget Sound area. Aspiring Youth provides innovative support to children, adolescents and young adults with Asperger’s Syndrome, ADHD, learning disabilities and similar traits.
