Mission Statement

To bring the community together to work toward racial justice by supporting our neighbors and transforming inequitable systems.

About This Cause

Together, we are working toward a racially just community where all people have homes, students graduate and families are financially stable. We envision equitable and just communities where all people thrive. We want to fight the systemic racism that has caused disproportionate levels of homelessness, poverty and food insecurity, which has in turn led to inequitable barriers to generational wealth building, access to quality education, employment, housing and more. With our grantmaking, funding and policy-making influence—and support from donors like you—together, we can make it happen. • Homelessness shouldn’t happen, period. But when it does happen due to crisis, we’re there to help people get back on their feet quickly. • Graduation rates are low. We help prep pre-K kids and their parents for the first day, get high school students back on track to finish their education, and support low-income college students to complete their degrees to earn living-wage jobs. • Too many families wrestle with poverty every day. We connect families with emergency aid so they can get back on stable ground. United Way of King County and our community count on contributions from people like you. Lead with your heart and give a gift today!
