Mission Statement

Temple Beth Am means "House of the People." We are a congregation that values community, worship, social action, education, and a place of holiness, fiscal responsibility, involvement, and ethical behavior. For over 60 years the leadership and staff of TBA have provided community for Reform Jews throughout the Seattle area.

About This Cause

The Temple Beth Am Education & Social Action Fund exists to enrich the lives of both Temple Beth Am members and the community at large through opportunities for community engagement and continuing education. It also exists to create opportunities for everyone to engage in acts of tikkun olam, or social action, to serve those in need throughout our community. Our programs include: Hebrew language instruction Yiddish language instruction KlezKids: Klezmer music instruction for youth Adult Education Forums: Discussions on social justice, LGBT rights, the environment, current events and more University Lecture Series: University professors guest lecture on topics including: Art History, Holocaust studies and more Senior Citizens' Group: Current events news discussion group, mah-jongg group, excursions to museums, cultural events and more. Seniors also receive free taxi rides to sponsored events. Social Action: Programs that serve those in need in our community, including Homeless to Renter, Teen Feed, Mary's Place and more Cultural Arts: Annual theatre performances, selected concerts
