About This Cause
Sound has proudly served King County for over half a century, improving the lives of our clients by delivering excellent health and human services tailored to meet their needs. As one of the largest behavioral health care nonprofits in the region, we provide mental health and addiction treatment, as well as housing, vocational, and domestic violence services to over 26,000 men, women, and children every year. During times of crisis, Sound is a reliable resource in the community, providing support through our urgent care model. Our team members are providing therapy via phone and video, helping clients remain in recovery and out of hospitals, and ensuring that clients meet their basic needs of food, shelter, and personal connection. We remain open and serving clients every day. Sound offers services in 17 locations throughout King County, offering the wrap-around, comprehensive support necessary for people to reach - and remain in - recovery and lead healthier lives. Because behavioral health challenges affect people at all ages and stages of life, we provide a broad range of programs and services such as: • Child & Family Services • CDVRT - Child Domestic Violence Response Team • MSSP - Middle School Support Project • Addiction Treatment • Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities • Adult Services Counseling Program • Crisis Response • Employment Services • Sound Solutions • Housing & Residential Services • Psychological & Psychiatric Services • Deaf & Hard of Hearing Our programs serve everyone in the community such as active-duty military personnel and veterans, people exiting the criminal justice system, individuals who have developmental disabilities, are deaf, homeless, or experiencing grief and loss, adults struggling with opioid or other substance use disorders, and children in foster care. We provide therapy, support and education groups, housing, vocational support, and so much more. Yet 98% of Sound's clients do not have private insurance. They are working families and single parents. Seniors and young adults. They are Black, White, Latinx, Asian, and Native American and much more. They represent all ages and religions. They identify with the LGBTQ+ community, they identify as heterosexual, and they are all of us. We are committed to serving everyone who needs our services to reach recovery and wellness, regardless of their ability to pay. Your generous investment in our clients not only helps them succeed but also helps to build a stronger community where EVERYONE has access to the services they need to thrive. Thank you for making a big difference in the lives of so many.
