Mission Statement

We serve the needs of and advocate for elders and immigrant families of Seattle’s various ethnicity regardless of race, creed, status, and/or income levels. We help preserve their physical, mental and emotional well-being through a variety of recreational, social, cultural, educational and health-oriented programs so that their dignity, well-being, sense of independence and purpose are enhanced.

About This Cause

From 1971, IDIC has evolved from a single-program senior daycare organization to what it is now: A full-service nonprofit organization. IDIC now offers specialized community service as contracted by the local government and funding institutions. Key programs and services are: Senior Center Health and Wellness Activities PEARLS Senior Congregate Meal Program Food Bank Social Work Information & Assistance Each year more than 700 elderly individuals avail of IDIC's services and participate in its daily activities. We serve 11,000 hot meals and distribute more than 70,000 lbs of groceries annually. Hundreds of seniors participate in programs that improve their health and wellbeing such as Enhance Fitness, ACAP Health Advocacy Program, educational sessions and many others.
