Mission Statement
Established in 1973, Senior Services for South Sound (SSSS) offers progressive and comprehensive services for seniors. SSSS’s mission is to keep seniors vital and independent in their community. Today SSSS offers a wide array of programs for seniors and their families including adult day care, Meals On Wheels, Senior Community Dining, rural transportation services, caregiver registry, respite care, social services, health programs, adult learning and independent living programs. Through all our programs we currently serve over 5,500 seniors in Mason and Thurston counties
About This Cause
Established in 1973, Senior Services for South Sound (SSSS) offers progressive and comprehensive services for seniors. SSSS’s mission is to keep seniors vital and independent in their community. Today SSSS offers a wide array of programs for seniors and their families including adult day care, Meals On Wheels, Senior Community Dining, rural transportation services, caregiver registry, respite care, social services, health programs, adult learning and independent living programs. Through all our programs we currently serve over 5,500 seniors in Mason and Thurston counties. The Senior Nutrition Program consists of three unique elements: Meals On Wheels, Senior Community Dining, and group and individual dietary counseling with a certified nutritionist as requested or needed. In 2015, this program will serve 110,000 meals serving 2,700 individual seniors in Mason and Thurston counties. The meals are available to any senior aged 60 or older in our community at a donated cost of $3-$6. Those under the age of 60 are welcome to enjoy lunch at any of our sites by paying the full meal cost of $7 per meal. The meals served provide at minimum 1/3 of the daily nutrition value for a senior. Senior Services for South Sound also operates three STARS Adult Day Program sites offering respite to caregivers while their loved-ones are in a safe, caring and interactive environment. The STARS Adult Day Program has sites in Olympia, Lacey and Shelton, Washington.
