Mission Statement

To empower children with positive skills that will help them become capable adults.

About This Cause

Founded in 1963 by Lula “Mama” Martin, Community Day Center for Children began with the concept of being a learning safe haven for children ages one to five years. Mama Martin believed in social justice and the importance of all children having equitable access to quality early learning experiences. She was a pioneer who understood the importance of brain science. She innately taught her staff and families why children must be exposed to positive educational interactions before research confirmed what she instinctively knew to be imperative to a child’s growth - providing environments that promote thriving students. CDCC is still committed to these philosophies. Our leadership team encourages interactions between staff and children that helps our students have successful outcomes.
