ARCS Foundation Seattle Chapter contributes to the advancement of science and technology by funding PhD fellowships for academically outstanding scholars in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math at the University of Washington and Washington State University.

About This Cause

ARCS is a leading national philanthropic organization started and run by women to advance our nation’s competitiveness in science and technology. The vision of ARCS Foundation Seattle Chapter is for Washington state to be a world leader in scientific excellence and innovation for the betterment of humanity. We are a thriving chapter of members who support research scholars at the University of Washington and Washington State University through well-funded fellowships. ARCS Foundation’s unrestricted three-year fellowships offer a competitive advantage, while also alleviating financial burdens to pursue STEM education and conduct research in Washington state. In 2024-2025, the Seattle Chapter will award nearly $900,000 to 152 ARCS Scholars at the University of Washington and Washington State University. ARCS Fellowships also offer these scholars unique opportunities for mentorship, networking, and advancement within ARCS Foundation’s STEM-focused, philanthropic community.
