Mission Statement
SafePlace aims to end sexual and domestic violence in our community through direct services including 24-hour hotline, 24-hour sexual assault response, confidential shelter, support groups, individual, legal and medical advocacy, as well as community outreach and education.
About This Cause
SafePlace’s agency framework has been built on a legacy of anti-oppression work, focused on the root causes of domestic and sexual violence, and a core dedication to survivor-centered services. Since our inception, we have been a domestic violence and sexual assault dual agency, which affords us the ability to create a truly holistic approach to addressing domestic and sexual violence, which are often intertwined. Our Vision: A community free of physical, sexual and psychological violence and oppression. Our Mission: We strive to put an end to sexual and domestic violence and advocate for personal and societal change through crisis intervention and education. Our Core Values: Quality- We are dedicated to quality programs and services for our clients, the best facilities we can provide, the finest staff we can hire and a positive atmosphere for change. Respect- The foundation for our relationships with others is respect for individual rights and choices. We are compassionate in our dealings with others. Self Care- We recognize the need for self-care as a priority for both clients and staff. Diversity- We value, acknowledge and integrate diversity. We are dedicated to serving the diverse cultures in our community and mirroring that diversity in our staff. Integrity- We endeavor to build relationships with clients, community members and each other based on integrity and honesty. Confidentiality- Client and personnel information is held in the strictest confidence, creating a culture of openness and trust. By offering survivors the opportunity to take the lead in their own healing, we empower survivors and support them in making safe decisions for their specific individual needs. We pass no judgment on a survivor’s decisions, and work with each individual to make and support the choices that are best for them.
