Mission Statement
Language development is the foundation for learning, developing relationships and succeeding in school and life. A child struggling with speech and language delays is at risk of losing key social, emotional and educational footing in the formative years. However, speech and language services for children are severely limited, either the child does not qualify for service, services are too expensive, or services are limited by a billable hour or insurance coverage. RightCare of Washington eliminates those barriers. All services are free of charge, no one is ever asked about insurance and every child is seen as many times and for as long as it takes to bring them to age-appropriate level of communications.
About This Cause
Birth to five is a critical window for development in young children. Maximizing language and learning during this crucial period will help bridge the gap between language delays and later academic learning. Children who need therapy to improve their speech and language may not qualify for school-based help, may need more intensive and consistent therapy than schools can provide or insurance can cover. In addition, during these early years, parents play a large role in their child’s language learning. Training parents and other caregivers in strategies to best support their child’s language development, when paired with evidenced-based speech and language therapy will ensure maximal learning for young children. At RCW, parents are in the room, actively participating, learning and growing with their child. They are partners with the trained speech and language pathologist ensuring that from session to session the child receives the re-enforcements and encouragement they need to master communications. There is nothing more important to the future of our community than giving all children the fundamental skills needed for optimal social -emotional development and an equal start in elementary school. Language development is the linchpin for both. RiteCare of Washington addresses the issue described above with great success. For 30 years, our therapists have been successful in engaging children with toys and games. There is no route repeating. Visit our current facility and you will see therapists on the floor, under tables, playing with pirate ships and using Nerf guns to shoot down word cards. Services are offered in our Seattle and Spokane clinics, as well as through partnerships in other cities throughout Washington state.
