Youth Theatre Northwest is a non-profit arts education organization.
About This Cause
Youth Theatre Northwest's mission is to nurture the intellectual, artistic, and personal development of children and youth through drama education, performing opportunities and live theatre experiences. YTN is both a theatre and a school providing a wide range of classes and programs designed to further theatrical learning, initiate creative play, and stimulate intrapersonal development for children and youth ages 3-18. Most of our students consider YTN to be their "home away from home," often spending years with us starting in preschool all the way up through high school graduation. We provide $10,000 of scholarship funds annually and hundreds of free or discounted tickets because we believe no child should be denied access to high-quality theatre education and the magic of live performance. YTN believes in the motto: theatre "for kids, by kids." This means that every actor who performs on our stage is 18 years old or less. The impact of a child seeing a play performed for them by their peers is immeasurable and one that is unique at Youth Theatre Northwest.
