The Kiwanis 21st Century Scholarship fund supports the education of youth in our community. We provide funding for a number of programs focusing on kids from birth to college.
About This Cause
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. The West Seattle Kiwanis club was the second service club established in West Seattle in 1929. Membership is open to all men and women who possess a genuine interest in serving the community. One thing that makes Kiwanis unique from other service organizations is its Service Leadership Programs for youth. Donations support youth in the following ways (partial list): Key Club boasts more than 250,000 high school boys and girls learning organizational and leadership skills and performing community service. Circle K is the largest college service organization in the United States, with more than 13,000 students on 550 campuses in 17 nations. Builders Club is made up of middle school students who learn how to be good citizens and get involved in making their communities a better place to live. K-Kids gives elementary school-aged children, teachers, and parents the opportunity to work together to perform community service. The students develop self-esteem, leadership skills, morals and standards, and respect for others. Aktion Club offers adults who live with a disability an opportunity to take part in community service. Young Children Priority One is aimed at supporting young children from birth to pre-school.
