Mission Statement
Our Mission: "To enrich the lives of families with children who are seriously/terminally ill or developmentally disabled by providing an outdoor wilderness experience, where families can enjoy themselves in a caring atmosphere without financial burden."
About This Cause
Prime Time Inc., dba Camp Prime Time offers a great camping experience for families that have a special needs child (terminally/seriously ill, or developmentally disabled). This camp is seven miles east of the White Pass summit on beautiful Clear Lake. There are 14 cabins (two duplex cabins) that can house 16 families per session. Sessions run weekends from the first weekend in June through the first weekend in Oct. Plus a few mid-week camps replace the holiday weekends, when camp is not in session. The purpose of the camp is to give the families an opportunity to reconnect but it does so much more. Each camp session is run by a separate group of volunteers, that cook, clean, and make the get-a-way wonderful for our campers. Camp has a large number of groups that attend. Due to those numbers the groups typically attend every other year. Our volunteers get so much satisfaction from working together as a team, we sometimes wonder at the end of the session, who has had the better time at camp, the attendees, or the volunteer workers! We are proud to say that our volunteer's help us cook clean and make camp fantastic for our camper families. Camp Prime Time offers a free camping experience for families that have a family member that is terminally/seriously ill or developmentally disabled. Many families tell us this is the only vacation their family has ever experienced, because their vacation time is used by taking their child to multiple medical appointments, which eats up the income they would have used to recreate. Families get to slow down a bit, have all meals prepared for them, and get reconnected with one another. They also forge new friendships with other families that are going through a similar situation. Families leave camp refreshed and rejuvenated after their weekend camping experience of boating, hiking, swimming and campfires with music.
